What is the difference between Greek myths and religions, etc?
What is the difference betweent Greek and Roman myths, beliefs Native American, etc, and this religon … we stopped believing in the Greek and Egyptian myths, why start believing in the major religions that we now?
There's really a big difference when you get to it. Religion operates in the same manner as any other social institution evolves with experience. The reason some of the major world religions are to remain as is because they have developed into more existential philosophies. Those who are not biblical literalists (and many still surrounding) present their religions, as a matter of faith, not questions of fact. Greeks, Romans, natives of South America, and many beliefs old are questions of fact. They were part of all aspects of their culture. While American society is undoubtedly heavily influenced by Christianity, not based on Christianity of everything we do. If we look at religion in America over the past 100 years (and I have decided to limit my response to religion in the U.S. due it is large enough), there is a pendulum swing, but we also see the axis as it swings too. Who knows where we in another thousand years? ….. I added the following after reading the comments after mine. Let me be clear. I know that many religions have been erased by more powerful groups of people who were willing to do ugly things to be right. I never intentionally do that religion is more valid than another; because it really does not believe in any religion in particular. If you look at the dictionary definition of the word "myth" of all religions in the form. None is excluded. It is a religion on this planet that can be tested, period. This does not mean that all religions are BS, just the opposite. This means that all religions are perfectly plausible. I stand by my reply that some of the major world religions have kept their followers through two means. One of the ways and means "Red Power" correctly identifies, is power. But the other is very simple. They have evolved. By "more existential," I just want to say "More philosophy. "Christianity has become more about internal struggles, and less on external actions. This does not mean that religions or indigenous religions Greek and Roman religions were not of the mind, as indeed they were and are. But Christianity, or at least liberal Christianity, a religion is becoming almost entirely of mind, as many Eastern philosophies. Sorry if I offended. It really was not my intention. All religions have the capacity to be harmful or helpful.
