What is the Buddhist religion and how it is different from believing in God?
First, Buddhism is not a religion, an atheist (I will wait patiently for my thumbs down). We do not worship Buddha as a god, because there is a god, but not many gods identified in the Sutta Pitaka. There Brahma and all the deities in the suttas. In fact, the first volume of the Samyutta Nikaya (if you want to call it) is called Devatasamyutta: a collection of speeches to the top of the Buddha and his disciples and Devas, who are in a kind of demigods like. In the Digha Nikaya and pair of speeches in Majjhima Nikaya, the Buddha or monks in various senior travel sky and talking to several Brahmas (who are gods), who were former disciples of Buddha who died and were reborn there. Anathapindika, which was the Buddha, the most famous lay disciples, reborn as Brahma. The difference between the gods and the gods in Buddhism to other religions is that God made is a temporary state in Buddhism. Digha Nikaya 1 describes very clearly. Brahma and Devas live unusually long amounts of time, but eventually die and are reborn in the lower (relative to the celestial world) realms, as the human realm. In Buddhism, worship no other gods. They are there, but do not worship them. That is the difference in the relationship between Buddhism and the religions of God and others.
