Pagans / worship of Norse / Greek / Roman / Aztec / etc pantheons, are offended?
Are you offended when their religion is taught in schools as mythology? Personally I use the word "mythology" and "religion" as synonyms, but I found that most Christians are offended by the term "Christian mythology". Does the word "mythology" as applied to bother your religion as it does with other theists, or is it more secure in his belief that? I've always wondered that. We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. Clearly all you are very confident in their beliefs. Your answers are all excellent. Thank you.
I'm not surprised by the use of the word "traditional" and use it myself. The stories of Greek gods are mythological, as are the stories of Christianity. The word and should not be taken as a synonym for "false." Now, if a teacher in public school students explicitly that these stories are false, then I would be a problem, but would be a separation of church and the problem the state, not grammar. (A teacher at a private school can say whatever he wants on the subject).
